New at Secret Skin: MUSTELA - Secret Skin

New at Secret Skin: MUSTELA

This month, we launched the clean and cruelty-free pregnancy and babycare brand Mustela on Secret Skin. While most of our intentionally curated products are safe to use for just about everyone, our babycare section, in particular, is curated keeping in mind your little one’s delicate skin and hair and the many ways your body changes before, during and after those nine months.

Mustela is a brand we’re particularly thrilled to bring on-board. This French family-owned brand was born in 1950 and created keeping in mind the highest standards of ingredients, safety and benefits. It is also proudly B-Corp certified, and has committed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, 20 years ahead of the 2050 date set by the Paris agreement, through a synergistic approach that brings together responsible sourcing, clean and efficacious ingredients, low-waste sourcing and manufacturing, green extraction processing, downsizing water and energy consumption, green energy, an eco-oriented design process and route optimization.

The brand created their first ever skincare product for babies - a super gentle cleansing milk - in 1950. 70 years later, it continues to set a high standard for babycare and pregnancy skincare, via an intelligently created product roster of cleansers, shampoos, moisturizers and more and formulations that include Avocado (also Mustela’s hero ingredient), Sunflower Seed Oil, Olive, Beeswax, Schisandra Berry (a skincare holy grail for everyone) and Passionfruit.

Every product from Mustela is also dermatologist-tested and must pass through 450 measures and tests, with an independent toxicologist (to ensure the highest degree of credibility, this individual is not employed by Mustela) being present at all stages of the manufacturing process.

Every single product that we’ve curated from Mustela is perfect for all stages of your and your little one’s journey, but these are some of our top favorites:

The Stretch Marks Serum is a beautifully lightweight, soothing serum that merges the powerful, skin-supporting benefits of Avocado Fruit Extract and Passionfruit Oil to diminish and reduce the appearance of stretch marks, restore the skin’s hydrolipidic barrier (that gets weakened during pregnancy) and build healthy, strong and supple skin for during those nine months and beyond.

This plush body lotion is a delight for both parents and babies alike: smooth it on to your little one’s skin for immediate and long-lasting hydration; the power-packed formulation of Sunflower Seed Oil, Vitamin E and Glycerin ensures that skin stays delightfully soft, nourished and protected.

Fragrance-free and beautifully soothing for your baby’s skin, the travel-friendly Stelatopia Cleansing Wipes make cleaning up extremely dry skin a dream. Simply swipe them on to skin whenever needed; the Sunflower Oil Distillation infusion works to quickly soothe and replenish skin and the softer-than-cotton fibres make it perfect to be used all over the face and body.

Regular massages come highly recommended for babies to help build strong bones and muscles and strengthen and nourish the skin. This Avocado-enriched Baby Massage Oil does all that and more: absorbs easily into the skin for minimal stickiness, restores the skin’s hydrolipid barrier and leaves behind a protective film on the skin.
